ASOS shoppers don’t know what to make of this tiny top.

Even though it costs £55, there’s not much fabric to the Simonett Nanu knitted crop.

When the online retailer shared a picture of model Dana Nozime in the top, Instagram users were sent into a frenzy.

One remarked: “2020 hits again. A TOP? That wouldn’t even cover one’s nips!”

Another asked: “This is a top? I’m getting old" and a third wrote: “Top?! That’s a stretch.”

Fashion fans think the bralette is so skimpy that it looks more like a scarf.

Shoppers joked the knitted material could 'keep the girls warm'

An Instagram user joked: “That’s not a top, that’s a scarf and you’re charging £55.”

Another said: “How lovely – a scarf to keep the girls warm. Ridiculous fashion right there.”

A third wrote: “When you want your scarf to double as a top.”

And a fourth admitted: “I thought it was a belt of a black bathrobe.”

While some weren’t keen on the design, others think it’s “cute”.

Would you wear the skimpy crop top? Some think it looks "cute"

A responder gushed: “This top looks really cute. Don’t know if I could pull it off as well though.”

Another commented: “Well this is cute.”

And a third added: “Love it.”

So would you give the barely-there top a go?

This isn't the only ASOS item to divide opinion recently.

Last month, shoppers compared this tiny bikini to a face mask.

And previously, the retailer was mocked for selling frilly shorts "that look like nappies".

Meanwhile, ASOS shoppers laughed at an underboob bikini and said 'there's more fabric on a tea towel'.

In other news, the store was also ridiculed for selling fake earphones as accessories.
