Brits aren’t afraid to shop around for a bargain.

The average person spends just under 43 minutes looking for the best deals before they commit to a purchase, a survey of 2,000 adults reveals.

Four in 10 also check up on online reviews before checking out on items or other services.

Insurance and white goods are the top items customers are most likely to look for a fair price on, along with energy providers and clothes.

People tend to focus on phone contract costs more than comparing prices when buying cars.

But in general, UK households are being more cautious with money due to the current coronavirus pandemic.

Likely a result of frugal spending, four in 10 feel they have had more disposable income during lockdown.

Another reason for this is because a fifth have had more time to hunt for the best bargains while they’re stuck indoors.

Meanwhile, 80% said they always take the time to look for deals no matter what the circumstances are.

This is because 48% of people hate feeling like they’re ripped off.

Around a quarter (24%) of people think that getting the cheapest offer is best, but six in 10 say “good value” is more about getting good quality for a reasonable price.

Are you a bargain hunter?

Nina Bibby, from O2, spoke about the research conducted via OnePoll.
