Everyone is different when it comes to sexual preferences, but it seems a lot of men like to be praised after the act.
Men are often reluctant to talk about their needs in intimate relationships.
Because of this – and long-standing stereotypes – there is often a misconception that men don’t need reassurance.
However, a recent poll revealed guys really want to be complimented in intimate situations.
We asked our male readers “What do men want to hear straight after sex?” and 8,544 people took part in the poll
The most popular answer was “You’re the best I’ve ever had”, which garnered 29% of the vote.
One of the second most popular answers was “Let’s do it again”, which got 22% of the vote.
This shows men are eager for encouragement and praise in the sack.
However, some guys were more concerned about their stomachs after the act, with 22% saying the words they long to hear are “Do you want a sandwich”.
The average sex session burns 288 calories per hour – the equivalent of the 40 minute jog – so it’s not surprising they want refuelling afterwards.
In fact, some sex positions like Girl On Top can burn up to 207 calories in just 30 minutes.
A further 20% of the men polled said they wanted their partner to say “I love you” after sex.
While just 7% said they longed to hear them say “Can we make this a casual thing?”.
The results dispel the stereotype that men want casual sex instead of meaningful relationships.
A previous study revealed the three words men want to heart during sex. More than 1,000 guys took part in the poll which revealed the majority want to be told “Please don’t stop”, followed by “That feels good”.
According to the Kinsey Report on Sexual Behavior in the Human Male, 54% of men think about sex every day or several times a day
A further 43% think about it a few times a week or a few times a month, and 4% think about it less than once a month.
