A personal assistant opened up about her office romance with her finance director boss and how it wrecked both their careers.
Becky, 31, began working with Adam, a 42-year-old high-flier at a leading IT company in Leeds, around two years ago.
She worked closely with her boss, making sure she sorted out all his appointments and business trips.
But things took an unexpected turn when the pair had sex together.
Six months after joining the firm, the pair had to go to a business conference in Brussels over two nights.
And despite being married with kids, Adam showed up at Becky's door after a boozy night out in town.
Becky revealed: "It was impossible not to be attracted to Adam.
"I basically ran his life – working 24/7 sorting out all his appointments and even travelling abroad with him on business trips.
"I spoke and saw more of him than his wife and we quickly became close.
"I had enjoyed workplace romances previously but never with the boss."
Speaking about the time they hooked up in Belgium, Becky detailed: "On the first night, there was a boozy reception.
"When we got back to our hotel, I went up alone to my room but there was a knock on my door. I knew it was Adam.
"I let him in and we made love. I knew he was married with young children but I could not resist him.
"After we had slept together, Adam went cold on me and stressed that we should just be colleagues."
But that's when things started to get shaky around work, Adam began picking holes in her work and finding fault in everything she did.
She added: "He destroyed my confidence and started making moves to get me replaced as his PA and demoted to a more junior role.
"I told the truth to the HR manager and they launched an investigation. Adam denied everything had happened.
"He was disciplined and left the company shortly afterwards and I found a new job, too, on a lot less money than I was on before."
Becky is now dating men on IllicitEncounters, the UK's leading affairs website, and is wary of getting involved with a work colleague.
She admitted: "You would think the experience of dating Adam would have put me off married men but power is a great aphrodisiac.
"There are lots of high-fliers like Adam on IllicitEncounters.com. I can have discreet affairs without any repercussions."
IllicitEncounters sex and relationship expert Jessica Leoni said: "It's official – the office affair is dead."
She continued: "It was already on its last legs before Covid as HR departments imposed tough rules on workplace romances.
"People were scared to go to bed with a colleague before Covid because they feared they would be fired.
"After Covid, that fear factor went up even more because of the risk of the infection and it was impossible to meet anyone anyway.
"Most people have realised that sleeping with a workmate is just not worth the hassle."
