A cute Dachshund puppy has been caught out stealing his owner’s socks – before deciding to go absolutely mental around the house.
The footage, which has gone viral on Reddit, shows the dog charging out of a bedroom.
He speeds past his owner and out of sight into another room, before speeding back into view and performing the same route once again.
His paws rattle across the wooden floor as he continues to run back and forth with the sock in his mouth.
The clip has been upvoted more than 21,000 times since being shared to Reddit last week with the caption: “My 12 w/o Dachshund puppy with stolen sock zoomies.”
Zoomies, or Frenetic Random Activity Periods (FRAPs), refers to when dogs have an explosion of energy and display frantic, repetitive behaviour.
Viewers were quick to flock to the comments section, where some shared similar experiences they have had with their own dogs.
“My Dachshund loves socks too," one wrote. "She's two years old and she and has run around with socks ever since she was so small she'd trip over them.
“On the one hand, I hate having to replace my holey socks, but on the other, they give her such joy it feels mean to take them away.”
Another commented: “My Dachshund still does this 3 years later, endless back and forth running between the same two spots, usually with her fave toy. So cute.”
Other viewers were simply taken aback by how unbelievably cute the footage was.
“I need eight of this dog, immediately,” a third said.
And a fourth added: “That sock is almost as big as the puppy! So cute.”
It comes just days after Daily Star Online revealed a puppy’s adorable morning routine of barking at a mirror.
Speaking exclusively to this site, the dog's owner said: "She is so smart! She knows how to shake, down, stay, sit and boop! She is still in the process of learning to roll over."
"Every day she will bark or do a little growl at herself in the mirror! It is the cutest thing.
"She also is extremely food motivated and loves her breakfast, lunch and dinner. She jumps for joy when food is coming."
