Meghan Markle ’s pregnancy style "earned" her a "stern-telling off" in the early days of her pregnancy,
That's the shock claim made by investigative journalists Dylan Howard and Andy Tillett in their new book Royals at War.
Critics complimented Meghan throughout her term as she "glowed" at every engagement while waiting for Archie Mountbatten-Windsor to arrive.
A new book has claimed her maternity wardrobe earned her a "telling off" however, and states there were "considerable rumblings" in the Royal camp over her appearance.
In their book, Royals at War, investigative journalists Dylan Howard and Andy Tillett claim: "There were considerable rumblings over Meghan’s appearance.
"In the early days of the pregnancy, insiders said that Meghan had earned a stern telling-off."
Howard and Tillet also claim her decision to announce her pregnancy as she did raised a few eyebrows and even left father-to-be Prince Harry "embarrassed."
The pair told the world they were expecting on the eve of their Royal tour of Australia and New Zealand.
It has been reported the Duke and Duchess shared the happy news with close family days before, however, at Prince Harry's cousin, Princess Eugenie, wedding.
The Royal authors state the decision left mum Sarah Ferguson "furious" and claim it was a "huge social gaffe" to do so at a wedding - even if you were not a Royal.
Howard and Tillet write: "Meghan put her foot in it when she decided that it would be the ideal moment to announce that she and Harry were expecting their first child.
"This was a huge social gaffe, even if you were not a Royal – stealing the limelight from Eugenie, who was furious, as was her mother, Sarah."
