A teenager’s sledging trip took a horrific turn after he was impaled by a chunk of wood through his bum cheek.
The 18-year-old had been sledging down a steep hill at Afton Reservoir, East Ayrshire, Scotland, when he slammed into a fence.
Upon impact, the youngster was impaled by a section of wood through his lower back and bum cheek.
Footage shared to Snapchat just moments after the accident shows the man somehow still standing with the sizable piece of wood sticking out of his body.
Someone can be heard saying to call the ambulance. Another clip then shows the victim gasping in pain as blood seeps out of the wound.
Emergency services scrambled to the scene after shocked witnesses desperately phoned for help, report Daily Record.
The injury was so horrific that an air ambulance was also flown in to assist the teen.
He is now believed to be in a stable condition after being rushed to Corshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock.
Snow has battered much of Scotland over the last few days thanks to a cold front sweeping in.
But the victim’s friends have since warned against the dangers of sledging.
“I helped him down the hill made sure he was okay,” one said.
“I’m just posting to show the dangers of what happened at Glenafton. Just stay safe folks.”
