A "depraved pervert" who has been jailed for having sex with a number of chickens which then died will not be banned from owning pets when he is released.
Rehan Baig, 37, of Shepherd Street, Bradford, also downloaded horrific sex abuse images involving young children and performed disgusting sex acts on a dog, the Bradford Crown Court heard on Monday, October 19.
At his sentencing on Monday, Baig was described as "manipulating and controlling".
He had stored the horrific “homemade” films under the term “family vids” on a computer at his home.
But in July last year a police raid of Baig's property by the National Crime Agency seized various devices and discovered the sick footage, YorkshireLive reports.
Prosecutor Abigail Langford said the recordings were made in the basement of the house and his wife Haleema Baig, 38, had admitted three charges of aiding and abetting sexual intercourse with an animal by filming her husband using a mobile phone.
Miss Langford described how one of the film clips showed Baig having sex with a dead chicken.
After his arrest Baig denied possession of the child sex images and movies and claimed to find such activity “repulsive”, but earlier this year he pleaded guilty to a series of offences including having sexual intercourse with an animal, downloading indecent images and movies involving children, possession of extreme pornographic images including bestiality and possession of cocaine and cannabis.
As part of his sentence, Judge Richard Mansell QC banned him for life from keeping any animal.
But on Thursday, the judge stated in open court that he could not make the order because Baig was not charged with animal cruelty.
“I have no power to prohibit him from keeping any animal,” Judge Mansell said.
He suggested that the prosecution contact the RSPCA and raise the matter before the city’s magistrates to see if an order could be made.
