A knife-wielding thug was arrested after throwing his girlfriend’s dog from a balcony before running down to the ground floor with a blade in his hand.
An argument is said to have broken out after the dog owner asked the man to “stop antagonising” the dog while it was sleeping.
The argument is said to have culminated in the man grabbing the dog, throwing it from the second floor balcony, grabbing a knife, and then heading downstairs with the knife in hand.
Police were on the scene and questioned the man before he was arrested.
Details of the unsettling cast have been shared by The Sunshine Coast Daily in which it was reported the man, who has not been named, pleaded guilty to one count of one count of animal cruelty.
It is reported the man had been out drinking with his girlfriend before they returned to their South Mackay home.
The man is then said to have started slapping the floor next to where the woman’s pet dog, named Diesel, was sleeping.
The woman asked the man to “stop antagonising” the dog.
However, the boyfriend allegedly then replied: “I’ll show you antagonising,” before scooping up the animal and throwing him over the edge of the balcony.
He then grabbed a knife from the kitchen and headed downstairs where he was met by police who asked him why he had a knife.
The MailOnline reports: “when police questioned the man about the incident he said he didn't know what happened to the dog, but he had grabbed a knife 'to make jaffles’.”
It is also reported the man refused to give a version of events when questioned by cops at the scene.
It is unclear if Diesel survived the incident.
Following the man’s plea of guilty during an appearance in court this week, the case was adjourned for sentencing later this month.
