A mysterious and bright object was caught speeding through the sky on CCTV in the early hours of this morning and it's left people scratching their heads as to what it might be.
The strange flash was caught on camera by Karen Spencer in Drighlington, Leeds Live reports.
In a clip Karen uploaded on social media, the motion detection CCTV is scanning a quiet and apparently deserted residential street.
The camera starts recording 12 seconds before a bright streak of light zooms across the dark sky.
From the looks of it, the flight is erratic and the object is heading towards earth rather than shooting skywards or traveling horizontally.
It also appears to be leaving a trail of vapour or smoke in its wake.
Karen got an alert that her home CCTV camera had detected movement at 5.42am this morning.
Although she does not believe in aliens, Karen is stumped as to what it might be and would like to find out.
She said: "I thought it was a shooting star but the camera picks it up 12 seconds before.
"You expect a shooting star to be more spontaneous.
"Some people had said its fireworks but the area it came from its all old people.
"I can’t see old people being up at 5.40am letting off fireworks.
"I’m not quite sure what it is, to be honest.
"It would be nice to try to find out what it is."
