This is the moment hitmen from Mexico's biggest drugs cartel – dressed in full military gear and carrying assault rifles – warn they are going to slaughter their enemies in rival cartels and corrupt government officials.
The video has been widely shared on social media and it shows hitmen from the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) carrying guns and wearing military gear while they pose for the camera with their faces covered.
One of the hitmen is heard saying: “The cleaning started, we have come to take the people from (rival cartel) La Familia Michoacana (LNFM) out of the state of Mexico, we are the people of Chito Cano."
This comes after the CJNG were filmed being caught in an ambush by hitmen from the LNFM.
CJNG previously posted sickening images of severed heads, limbs, and scalps in an attempt to imidate their enemies.
Reports said that the video is CJNG’s latest threat against LNFM, which is based in the state of Michoacan.
The group of hitmen is allegedly led by the drug dealer Alejandro Carranza, aka ‘Chito Canto’, who is believed to be in charge of the CJNG in the state.
A poster can be seen behind the hitmen on the video with the message, which reads: “The cleaning of all the dirty Familia Michoacana has started.
"We will not allow these b******s to kidnap people or create rackets.
“We will also kill everyone who supports them, regardless if they are from the national or the state government.
"The state of Mexico, Michoacan and Guerrero have only one lord, the CJNG.”
Maribel Cervantes, the Secretary of Security of the State of Mexico, confirmed that several unnamed officials of the local government are being investigated for allegedly collaborating with cartels to allow drug trafficking in the area, according to local media.
State Police and the General Attorney’s Office are reportedly investigating the alleged alliances.
