A depraved pervert who raped and killed a 16-year-old girl in 1987 will be executed after his latest appeal was rejected.
Evil Ramiro Rubi Ibarra, 66, will be killed by the state on March 4, 2021, a panel determined.
The murdering rapist has spent 23 years on death row in Texas, US, following the grisly killing of Maria De La Paz Zuniga in Waco.
Ibarra used an electrical cord to strangle Maria after he raped the babysitter who was looking after her nephews.
Murderer Ibarra managed to gain trust as he was a family acquaintance.
His lawyer, Russ Hunt Jr said: “Of course, we are very disappointed that as of this point we have not been able to get him relief through the appellate process.”
Ibarra was arrested when his victim was found, and DNA evidence connected him to her death.
But, an improperly served search warrant stopped Ibarra from being apprehended until 1996 when he was taken into custody once again.
Over the years Ibarra tried to dodge his execution by pursuing numerous avenues.
At first he claimed to be mentally unfit to stand trial and later claimed, as he was an undocumented migrant when arrested, the Mexican Consulate needed to grant him legal aid.
Both these bids failed.
Back in 2012, Ibarra attempted to secure a life sentence over a lethal injection after he argued that his lawyers did not demonstrate the extreme conditions of his childhood upbringing.
He had hoped this would convince jurors to rethink his death sentence.
The claim was later rejected.
Following the murder trial, Ibarra was convicted of the sexual assault of his underage nephew in Bell County.
