A paedophile wife has been jailed for more than 700 years for sexually abusing two young girls.
Lisa Marie Lesher, 41, abused the victims at a home in Falkville in Alabama, US with her husband Michael Lesher.
He is already serving more than 400 years in prison for similar offences.
Authorities said it was “one of the worst cases of child sexual abuse” they had ever seen.
Lesher of Carrollton, Georgia, US, was locked up for a total of 723 years in prison after being convicted in court last month of a string of charges.
Judge Stephen F. Brown handed down the sentence, which is the maximum allowed by law in this case.
Her husband stood trial for his participation in the abuse last year and was sentenced to 438 years.
It means together the sick couple received 1,161 years.
She was found guilty of two counts of rape in the first degree, four counts of sodomy in the first degree and one count of sodomy in the second degree.
She was also convicted of one count of sexual torture and one count of sexual abuse in first degree.
The sentence for each count varied between 10 and 99 years.
But the judge ordered each count to run consecutively, which means she will have to finish each sentence before starting the next.
It means she will die behind bars.
The case was first reported in 2007, but was reopened at the request of the victims when District Attorney Scott Anderson took office.
A new investigation was launched into the abuse, local news channel WAFF reported.
District Attorney Scott Anderson told the station: “Lisa Lesher was sentenced to 723 years in this case, and she deserved every day of it.
“Justice has been served.”
He previously said: “This was one of the worst cases of child sexual abuse I’ve ever seen and once it was brought to my attention, we went to work on bringing these two monsters to justice."
He said because of the delay in prosecution, his office had to reconstruct the entire case right from the start.
