It’s a new year full of new, exciting things.
However, it seems that bridal trends may not have got the memo as some of 2020’s most bizarre themes continue into 2021.
Plus, some odd new additions have made waves too.
The latest bridal gown that has confused social media users is a lacy number which reminds us of the 1980’s and the 2000’s simultaneously.
Showing up on eBay, the dress is called the “Sexy See Through Mermaid Wedding Dress Sheer Applique Lace Open Back Bridal Gown.”
And, as the same suggests, it flares below the knee in a beautiful, sheer and lacy mermaid style.

However, moving up the gown there are a fair few areas which expose the bride’s body.
Strategically placed lace covers the chest and bum while the hips, thighs, arms, cleavage and back are bared.
The low, hip-bone revealing cut out has a similar effect to low-rise jeans before opening up to the flowy skirt.
The dress is cheap for a wedding gown at just $200 AUD (£115).
And, social media had something to say about the design, reports Yahoo Australia.
On Facebook one person wrote: “What dress?”
“I’m insulted,” jokes another.
A third added: “Why when I look at this my first thought is about super-low jeans?!”
A third tried to categorise exactly what she thought of the gown, and wrote: “It’s like if a stripper costume, a figure skating costume, a synchronized swimming costume, a belly dancing costume and some curtains all came together into one garment.”
While another added: “It looks like a lace tankini with boy shorts bottoms.”
Well, we’re sure it’s someone’s dream dress…
