A cringe-inducing video shows how a poor woman got her bum wedged in the railings outside a B&M store in front of a huge crowd of shoppers.

In the clip, which can be seen here, a poor lass got wedged between blue railings and a B&M billboard after apparently sitting down and slipping backwards.

She sits with her head in her hands, the picture of regret.

While a pal films her anguish, other people gather around to watch the bizarre incident unfold.

Eventually, one woman in the crowd steps forward to offer help and pats the poor lass on the head before wrapping her arms around her back and trying to pull her out.

The trapped girl laughs hysterically as the awkward rescue attempt plays out, and the clip ends before it’s clear what happened.

Unsurprisingly, the video has been watched more than 1.4 million times since it was uploaded last night, November 21.

The caption reads: "You think you’re having a bad day?

"At least you didn’t get your booty stuck in the railings outside a B&M in front of many many people."

It's not clear which B&M the scene was filmed at, although some viewers reckoned they recognised it as the store in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

Thousands of people commented on the unfortunate clip, with many joking it reminded them of the legend of King Arthur having to pull the sword out of the stone.

One person said: "It’s when you realise the people behind are watching takes this from funny to comedy gold."

"For the person that gets her out, you are the chosen one," quipped another.

A woman asked: "Were all those people in the queue trying to get you out like King Arthur?"
