A couple got engaged in Asda – after the surprised bride-to-be heard the proposal over the tannoy.
Itayi Mukonyora popped the question to his girlfriend of three years Astrolisa Zvovuno at their local supermarket in Norwich.
He chose the unlikely proposal location in a bid to throw his girlfriend off the scent.
The 26-year-old planned the special moment for four weeks, popping into Asda beforehand to get staff on board.
He said: "I told them, I want to propose to my girlfriend she means a lot to me.
"They said ok we will help you - you just let us know when and you can make your announcement."
Itayi initially planned to record a voice note and play it over the tannoy, but later decided to say whatever came to him at the time.
The surprise went down well with Astrolisa, who said yes.
She said: "I am very overwhelmed and surprised. He did throw me off I wasn't expecting it at all."
While some may think it’s an unusual place to get engaged, it’s a significant location for the couple.
Itayi, who is set to start a masters in psychology, said it’s one of the first places they went together when moving to the UK.
He revealed: "When we came to the UK, it's the first shop we went too to do our groceries and because we live close by.
"I thought this is the place she is least likely to suspect anything as it's the one place we always do our shopping."
The happy couple, who met through a mutual friend in Cyprus, have started planning their wedding.
They’re hoping for a traditional ceremony surrounded by their family and friends.
