A former Starbucks worker has spilled the beans on the iconic coffee chain, including the simple way everyone is able to get a free beverage.
Eloise Fouladgar shared the tricks of the trade to her TikTok, @eloisefouladgar, where she has raked in thousands of views.
In “part 1”, she says you can get 20p off your order if you hand in a reusable cup to fill with coffee.
Eloise goes on to explain anyone can get a free drink or meal as long as it’s their birthday.
She continues: “Tip 4 – if you’re an iced coffee lover then this one’s for you.
“An iced coffee at Starbucks is usually about £4.50 but I know how to get it for £1.50 but I’m kind of worried I’m going to get into trouble for this.”
In a second video, the ex-worker says that you need to go up to the counter and ask for two shots of coffee.
If you want an iced coffee, you ask for one large cup of ice which is free.
Eloise adds: “Then you take the cup of ice and the espresso shots over to the counter with all the sugar which has loads of milk.”
“All you have to do is put the espresso shots in the cup of ice, get the cartons of milk, pour that in and there you go – you get a £1.50 cup of coffee.”
If that wasn’t good enough, the former worker also said you can get any coffee for 50p by simply asking for a refill on your first purchase.
And it’s not just humans who can make use of Starbucks, according to Eloise.
“There is actually a Starbucks drink for your dogs,” she says.
“All you have to do is order a ‘puppacino’, and it’s completely free.”
The colours of the aprons that the baristas wear also mean something. If a worker is wearing a green apron, it means they’re a “standard barista” and perhaps have only just started working at the chain.
“However, if you have a black apron, that means something different,” she adds.
“So a black apron is actually awarded to you when you have full coffee knowledge.
“You’re kind of known as the coffee master – you make amazing coffees.”
And if you spot someone in a blue apron, it means it’s “frappucino happy hour” – meaning you can get special deals on the beverages.
Starbucks has since clarified some of Eloise's comments in a statement.
“At Starbucks, we want all our customers to enjoy a personalised experience when they visit our stores," a spokesperson for the company said.
"Our UK Starbucks Rewards programme offers members exclusive benefits, including a free drink when they collect 150 stars and Gold members receive a free Birthday drink.”
"We also provide a 25p discount to all customers who use their own reusable cup and we offer free filter coffee refills to any customers opting to eat in.
"Customers should also look out for the coloured aprons worn by our baristas as these will tell you if you’re being served by: a Starbucks Coffee Master (Black), the best barista in a particular country (brown) or a winner of Starbucks annual Barista Championships in Europe, Middle East and Africa (purple).”
