Gordon Ramsay has been at the receiving end of some backlash after sharing a video of his pumpkin and black truffle risotto.

The celebrity chef filmed the indulgent veggie-based dish being served up for his Instagram page, where he has just under 10 million followers.

In the clip, recorded at his Italian restaurant Union Street Café, a chef tips out the bubbling risotto onto a dish and spins in around so it settles.

He then briskly shaves some fresh truffle over the top.

The risotto is listed on the menu for £14 as an appetiser and £19 as a main, but critics said they wouldn't eat it any time soon based on its appearance.

One person commented: "Kinda looks like vom."

"This looks like baby vomit," echoed a second viewer.

But a supporter said: "Don’t know what it is but it looks bomb AF."

"Can already feel my tummy gurgling," said another admiring fan.

"I need it," said someone else enviously.

Union Street Café, in Southwark, central London, is one of Ramsay's 35 restaurants and is fronted by Italian head chef Davide Degiovanni.

It has an emphasis on "artisan" food and is self-described as "inspired by the casual glamour and laid-back luxe of Italy".

This comes after another one of Gordon's culinary delights was compared to sick – this time a dessert of brownies and freshly-beaten cream.

And people were horrified by his "perfect" sticky toffee pudding when they mistakenly thought it was being served with gravy rather than toffee sauce.
