A dad who hates the year 2020 has tried to change the date of his son's New Year's Eve birth.
The 34-year-old welcomed his baby boy who was born at 11:05pm on December 31, 2020.
But when he was given the form to fill out, he decided to tweak a few things about his child's birth.
He filled out the new date and time of 12:05am on January 1, 2021.
However, it wasn't as easy as he thought because the nurse wouldn't accept the fraudulent form.
Writing on Reddit, the man said: "I told her she was making a huge deal of it.
"And that this was unfair to my son because he only lived in 2020 for just one hour."
He added: "Plus 2020 was a sh***y year I'm glad it's finally over and I don't want my son to be associated with it.
"So adding 2021 would make more sense. I told her it didn't matter and that it was better that way."
According to Kidspot, the nurse argued with the dad and told him it was "considered forgery" for trying to change the details.
To which the man responded saying he would like to take "full responsibility for anything that happens later".
In the end, the form was taken from the man and he wasn't allowed to fill it in after getting a paediatrician involved too.
He told Reddit how his wife was upset and embarrassed by his behaviour with his family taking his partner's side.
Meanwhile users on the forum didn't take the dad's side either claiming he was an "idiot" for his actions.
One wrote: "2020 was a rough year for everyone and I get that time is just a construct but let it be the best part of 2020."
Another added: "This feels like reading a toddler having a tantrum."
A third commented: "As a parent you don't have authority over space and time.
"His date and time of birth is a fact, not an opinion."
It is believed the man used the death of his dad and friends in 2020 as reasons he wanted to change the year.
