A DIY-savvy mum has created a gorgeous upcycled dressing table for her daughter’s bedroom.

Kerry Morgan, a self-employed mum-of-three from Lichfield, Staffordshire purchased a pretty second-hand dressing table from Facebook Marketplace.

The item had a great frame, but needed some elbow grease and creative DIY to become usable.

Kerry posts snaps of her DIY projects to Instagram, @morgan.upcycle.

The mum also posted the transformation to F acebook – and fellow interiors enthusiasts fell in love with the piece.

Kerry upcycled the dressing table for her daughter

Captioning some before-and-after photos, Kerry said: “I brought this little dressing table from the Facebook Marketplace to upcycle for my little girl's bedroom and I’m really happy with how it’s turned out.

“Amazing what a lick of paint can do!”

We agree – the table looks like a totally different piece of furniture.

To create the feature piece, Kerry spent £14.95 on some blue paint.

The dressing table needed a modern update

The shade she chose is “Mermaid For a Day” by Frenchic.

The mum also spent £7.95 on a smaller pot of Frenchic’s “Gorgeous Gold”.

If you want to do something similar, we’d recommend giving the furniture a good scrub and using some sugar soap.

Interiors fans went wild for Kerry’s pretty project.

We love the colour of this table!
We bet Kerry's daughter is thrilled

One person said: “Love it, so beautiful!”

“Stunning, I love it,” added another.

While many more said the update was “gorgeous”.

Top job, Kerry!

We bet your little girl is thrilled with her Princess-style dressing table.

Upcycling is a great way to give new life to old furniture – it's environmentally friendly and much cheaper!

Kerry spent just £22.90 on paint for this cool project.
