Eggs – delicious to eat but a nightmare to peel.
But luckily for us, help is at hand thanks to the Lunchbox Mums Facebook group.
Krystie-Lee shared her foolproof trick to avoid a mouthful of eggshell.
She starts by boiling the eggs for 10-12 minutes, before she says to tip the water out and “lightly drop them in the empty pot, enough to crack the shell, but not enough to break the egg”.
Next, she says to add cold water and “let them [eggs] cool to lukewarm”.
And for the finale, she says to tip out the water and “get a nail underneath to lift, and pull the shell apart from both sides”.
Once you’ve done that, your egg is ready!
According to the Facebook user, this works 9/10 times.
And according to some of the comments on her post, many people already use this method.
One responder commented: “Is this a trick I never knew was a trick?”
Many people also pointed out it was a good way to check if eggs were fully cooked or not.
“It’s more to do with the freshness of them than anything else, but this tip does make peeling them easier” said another commenter.
And a third Facebook user added: “Well whatever the reason, this tip looks like a dead cert for hassle-free boiled eggs!"
This isn't the only cooking hack to go viral recently.
The short eight-second clip shows the man filling up a glass full of water, with the egg inside.
He then places his hand over the cup's opening and begins vigorously shaking it.
When the man then tips out the egg it is clear that cracks have formed on the shell.
He proceeds to squeeze the egg and, in one swift motion, the shell comes off.
