A Tesco worker has revealed a simple way you can get a bag for life without having to pay the standard 20p.
Hannah Lowther took to TikTok to share her life hack, where it has been seen more than 700,000 times.
She explained: “Little Tesco fun fact for you. The very famous bag for life is literally a bag for life.
“You buy a 20p bag for life but if it breaks, bring it into the store, we’ll recycle it and give you a brand new one for free.
“Hence the name bag for life.”
But Hannah, who can also be followed on Instagram, did warn that it would be far better environmentally not to use plastic bags at all.
The video has blown shoppers’ minds online, with thousands flocking to the comments section to share their thoughts.
“I work at Tesco and I didn’t even know this,” one said.
Another wrote: “I didn’t know this either!”
A third said: “I can’t remember to take a bag to the store when shopping never mind return one.”
While a fourth was less impressed, adding: “I’d simply be too embarrassed. They’d laugh me out the shop.”
But other shoppers claimed the hack was relatively well known already.
It comes after a savvy woman revealed her own Tesco trick to get Quality Streets for half the price.
Meanwhile, another shopper shared the easy way to get around having to use a pound coin for trolleys at supermarkets.
Taking to Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, the lady in question shared a photo of her door key stuck in a supermarket trolley.
She captioned the picture: "So busy today in the supermarkets... just a little tip for you ... no pound coin for the trolley VOILA use ur key .. happy Christmas shopping."
