Former TOWIE legend Joey Essex, took to Instagram to share insight to his plush birthday bash as co-stars and chums piled into his lavish home.

As celebrations got underway, everyone seemed to be in great spirits as they partied poolside at Joey's pad before lunging in for some fine dining food.

Although, it appears that the TV star may have got a bit carried away as he seemed to flout the coronavirus government guidelines in a bid to celebrate his landmark birthday.

Sharing his excitement, Joey and many of his peers took to Instagram to upload snippets of the wild party.

In one clip the focus turned to his cousin Chloe Sims and chum Vas J Morgan who were busy cutting some serious shapes.

Seemingly pleased with the work conducted by his party organisers, he flashed a huge sign that was smothered in gold, green and white balloons, that read: "Joey 29 + one."

Realising he was no longer in his twenties any more, he exclaimed: "Oh s**t man, 29 plus one."

As the camera aligned, a crowd of people came into view as they congregated around the outside bar area.

Feeding his guests came at a high price as the reality star opted for a food delivery from the Celebrity hot spot Sheesh.

Uploading a video of the catering staff bringing the goods into his garden, he said: "Oh and the Sheesh has just turned up.

In true Joey Essex fashion, he followed up with: "What you saying? What's happening?"

Later, another post showcased swarms of people crowding in his kitchen to lap up the takeaway food on offer.

Celebrity guests included Demi Sims, Charles Sims, Tom Pearce and James Bennewith, who is better known as Diags on the The Only Way Is Essex.

Everyone seemed in high spirits as they also took to their digital platforms to document the party antics.

At the moment, the government's website stipulates that socialising indoors with groups of more than two households should be avoided.

In terms of socialising outside, the rules currently state that socialising in groups of more than six people from different households is also not permitted, unless participants are exclusively from two households or part of support bubbles.
