The TV host, who has been married to Stephanie Lowe for nearly 27 years, said his wife has been "incredible and "the kindest soul I have ever met."
The couple share two children together, Molly and Ruby, and the 54-year-old explained his daughters have been "astonishing in their love, hugs and encouraging words of comfort".
Stephanie met Phil at the start of his career at the BBC.
The duo crossed paths when he was children's television and her as a production assistant.
They got married at Scotland's Ackergill Tower in 1993 and the couple have two daughters, Ruby and Molly, and celebrated their silver wedding anniversary in 2018.
While Stephanie has largely shunned the limelight, the pair appeared in a TV series in 2017 called Schofield's South African Adventure, where the couple discovered the best of South Africa, sampling local culture and culinary creations.
It was the couple's first debut television appearance together.
Two years ago, the couple marked their 25-years of marriage and the daytime marked it with a sweet post on social media
He wrote: "2 birthdays and a Silver Wedding Anniversary in one week! That’s a lot of cards. Happy 25th Mrs S."
Discussing their marriage, Phillip opened up about his wife during a segment on Lorraine, and explained the reason why she doesn't work in TV anymore.
Speaking to Christine Lampard on Lorraine about it, Phillip said: "She worked in television years ago, that was how we met, so she can do it, she just doesn't want to these days... She will only film with me.
"She got more into it as we went along."
