Ozzy Osborne has shared what was going through his head as he attempted to kill his wife, Sharon.

The Black Sabbath star said that the harrowing moment is "not exactly one of my greatest f***ing achievements."

Putting their lives on full public display once more, in a new documentary for US audiences named The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne, the famous couple have reflected on the "frightening" night.

The show sees the Aston-born legend and music manager Sharon open up about the night which almost cost Sharon her life.

Speaking about the evening, the former X Factor judge said: "We'd had a couple of fights and you can tell it was building to something, you could just feel it.

"I just knew it was coming."

Sharon went on to say that Ozzy was on a cocktail of drugs "night and day" and that he was "rarely calm".

However, that changed on the infamous famous night.

"It frightened the sh*t out of me," she said.

Speaking about his feelings, Ozzy interrupted with: "I felt the calmest I've ever felt in my life. It was like serenity. Everything was just peaceful."

Sharon confirmed that she had put their three children, Aimee, Kelly and Jack to bed before sitting down to relax on the sofa.

Ozzy admitted to not remembering the horrific event

"I had no idea who sat across from me on the sofa but it wasn't my husband.

"He gets to a stage where he gets this look in his eyes where his shutters are down and I couldn't get through to him," she recalled.

Addressing the gut-churning moment, firey Sharon said: "He just says, 'We've come to a decision that you've got to die.'"

It was at that moment, Ozzy lunged at his wife and proceeded to choke her.

"He was calm, very very calm and he lunged across at me.

"I felt the stuff on the table and felt the panic button and just pressed it. Next thing I know the cops were there," Sharon admitted.

Speaking about the incident, Ozzy said: "All I remember is waking up in Amersham jail and I asked the cop, 'Why am I here?' And he says, 'You want me to read your charge?'

Sharon recalled being the most frightened she had ever been

"So he read, 'John Michael Osbourne, you have been arrested for the attempted murder of Sharon Osbourne.'"

"I was very very surprised when she dropped the charges."

Sharon added: "It was probably the most frightened I've ever been."

The music manager said she was "looking at all the options left" as she contemplated divorcing the Changes hitmaker.
