Joe Joyce wants a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk in the pros if he beats Daniel Dubois next month.
Usyk must also beat Derek Chisora this weekend to maintain his mandatory position for the WBO heavyweight title.
That belt may become vacant if they don't approve Anthony Joshua's clash with Tyson Fury next year.
It would blow the door open for Usyk to fight for the vacant title and Frank Warren has revealed in his Daily Star column he wants the winner of Dubois against Joyce to face the Ukrainian.
Dubois and Joyce will square off behind closed doors on November 28.
Joyce fought Usyk in the World Series of Boxing – a semi-pro competition over five rounds back in 2013.
He said: “Of course I want that Usyk fight, I want revenge for our fight in the World Boxing Series and doing it for the WBO heavyweight title would be the icing on the cake.
“That is what I am in boxing for.
“It would be a great fight and I would be much better prepared for it next time around.
“Last time I was still a novice really and hardly had any southpaw sparring going into it.
“It would be amazing to have the rematch in the pros.
Usyk has conquered the cruiserweight division as a professional but is now looking to rule at heavyweight.
Doubts have been raised whether he is big enough to deal with the giants like Joshua and Fury in the division.
But Joyce thinks Usyk can tackle the monsters despite his size disadvantage.
“In the WSB we boxed at catchweight and he was having an easy time because he was so experienced and his movement was so much better than everybody else's,” said Joyce.
“But in the pros you have smaller gloves and more rounds and he has slowed down as he put on more weight to improve his resistance and power.
“This Chisora fight will tell us a lot. Murat Gassiev is a monster puncher but Usyk dominated him because all that power means nothing if you can’t touch him.
“If Usyk moves and dances and mixes up his punches then it is so hard to beat him.
“He does all his mad training and juggling but he is just as crazy and unorthodox in the ring.”
