Tottenham star Dele Alli would be a “good fit” for north London rivals Arsenal, according to Gunners legend Ray Parlour.

Alli, 24, has been linked with a move away from Spurs in recent weeks, with speculation intensifying after he was left out of Jose Mourinho’s squad for last week’s trip to Southampton.

It is believed Paris St-Germain are eyeing up a loan move for the England international, although Mourinho has since insisted he is “convinced” he will remain at the club this summer.

Nevertheless, former Arsenal midfielder Parlour has urged his ex-club to go and sign Alli instead of Chelsea ace Jorginho - who is reportedly wanted by Mikel Arteta.

“I think [Alli] would be more of a fit than Jorginho if I’m being honest, because I’ve always said they’re lacking goals from midfield,” he said on talkSPORT.

“I don’t think Spurs would sell Dele Alli to Arsenal. I think there would be uproar by the Spurs fans if that happens.

“But he would certainly be a good fit for Arsenal.”

Parlour then added: “I certainly believe that he’s got a lot of good years left in him as a player. So £50million has got to be the marker.

“One thing about Arsenal is I think they’re lacking goals from central midfield areas, so I think he could tick that box especially where he does score goals. He can get you 10 goals from midfield if he plays on a regular basis.

“Whether he could get more, Arteta, I don’t know. I’ve never worked under Arteta, but what he’s done with the other players and what I’ve seen from the outside, certainly they’re responding to him. So I’m sure Dele Alli would be exactly the same.

“I’m not saying Jose Mourinho can’t get more out of Dele Alli, maybe he’s still pushing now to get more out of him.

When asked how Arsenal fans would feel about Alli joining the club, Parlour said: “I think they’d be pretty happy, no? Because you’re getting a quality player off your rivals, so I think they’d be pretty happy if they got a Dele Alli.

“If he started playing week in week out, started putting in the performances like we saw when he left and joined Spurs, then I’m sure they’d be delighted.”
