Guendouzi has signed for the Bundesliga outfit for the rest of the season having been frozen out by Arteta.
It came following a post-game incident in June's defeat at Brighton with Guendouzi having not been selected in a match-day squad since.
The French star had been a key player during the early months of Arteta’s tenure with the boss noticeably working with the midfielder.
But, following months without action, Guendouzi took a sly dig at Arteta with a post on social media following his move.
He wrote: “Excited to be back on the pitch and defend the colors of Hertha BSC! Let’s go!”
Guendouzi will wear the No. 8 shirt for Hertha, and added: "The discussions with those responsible convinced me [to join].
“I don't just want to develop personally, but help the whole association to take the next step.
"I’m buzzing to start life in Berlin as a Hertha player."
Guendouzi’s move comes despite Arteta having promised him a clean slate at the Emirates.
Arteta had said: “I have been really clear that everybody starts from zero all the time in football.
“What you did two weeks ago or two years ago doesn’t really matter. It’s what you are able to contribute to the team now. Everybody is going to have the same opportunities.

"They’ll have to show with their performances and their attitude that they are better than their teammates or somehow contributing to what we want to achieve this season.
“[Our conversations were] To tell him exactly that he’s going to be part of the team and at the moment he’s like any other player in our squad.
