Omar Rekik is set to be confirmed as Arsenal’s first signing of the January transfer window imminently.
The Gunners reportedly agreed a £540,000 fee with Hertha Berlin to sign the 19-year-old centre-back.
Arsenal managed to keep the deal under the radar, with the youngster not linked as a target before the window began.
Rekik is relatively unknown within football, and is still yet to play for the Hertha Berlin senior side.
He’s made eight appearances for the Hertha B team this season, and has already linked up with the Arsenal under-23 team for training.
The young Turk has played in England before, having signed for the Manchester City academy back in 2012 for two years, but failed to find his feet in Manchester and left for PSV.
He left the club to follow his older brother, Karim, who was also at the City academy before leaving for PSV.
Fairly little is known about Rekik, due in part to the fact he is yet to play a senior game of football.
Judging by his Instagram page, Rekik lives a fairly lavish lifestyle, and has made no secret of that.
He played alongside former Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou during the Ivorian’s time at Hertha, and the pair went on holiday together in the past.
A glance at the highlights reel on his page shows the pair on a yacht in Ibiza, where Rekik can be seen lounging about in Louis Vuitton gear.
Other snaps show him wearing designer clothes and stepping out of his Mercedes, while another clip shows Rekik at Ocean Beach – a luxury pool party club in Ibiza.
On the pitch, Rekik is a tall right-footed centre-back, and is viewed as one for the future.
One snap on his Instagram shows the Turkish ace using his strength to compete for the ball with a Paris Saint-Germain striker, and Gunners fans will be hoping he can do the same when he is ready for the first-team.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Arteta confirmed Rekik was set to be announced imminently, saying: "We will announce it when we possibly can.
"He’s a young talent that we’ve been following for a while that we believe has a really bright future. But we will give more details when we can.
"Yes [the news will be soon]. [Today?] I don’t know. Very soon."
