Mohamed Salah will reportedly not be joining Barcelona anytime soon with doubts regularly popping up over the Liverpool star’s future.

Salah has flourished since joining the Reds in 2017, helping Liverpool to a Champions League title and their maiden Premier League crown.

He started this campaign with a bang too, netting a hat-trick as Jurgen Klopp’s side began their Prem defence with a 4-3 win over Leeds.

There are still regular reports that Salah could depart with La Liga giants Barcelona often tipped to make a move for the Egyptian. But it seems he won’t be making the switch to the Nou Camp.

In a Q&A, The Athletic were asked if there is any truth in the Salah to Barcelona rumours.

And the response was: “Zero. It’s probably the most ludicrous rumour I’ve heard all summer. How much is Salah worth? £200 million?

“For a start, Barca have got major financial problems and wouldn’t be able to get even close to that.

“Then you’ve got the fact that Liverpool wouldn’t even consider selling him anyway.

“Also, Barca are such a mess currently that moving there from Liverpool at the moment would be a big step down.

“Sleep easy. Salah isn’t going anywhere.”

Salah had left a number of Reds fans uneasy with his comments at the end of last season on his future.
