Fulham are interested in both William Saliba and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The Arsenal defender and Chelsea midfielder are both surplus to requirements this season under Mikel Arteta and Frank Lampard respectively, but Scott Parker’s side only have one more loan slot to utilise.

That could give the club a difficult decision over the last few hours of the window, but it might be the defence that is more in need of a shake up despite their improved performance against Wolves.

Saliba was expected to play a key role at the Emirates this season after being loaned backed to Saint-Etienne last time out, while Loftus-Cheek recently returned to fitness after recovering from a serious injury.

It is the Guardian that have reported the interest in the England midfielder, with Fulham remaining the most likely destination but no firm decisions being made as of midday on Monday.

The Telegraph have reported similar news of Saliba, who has been made available on loan by Arteta as he favours the new defensive pairing of David Luiz and Gabriel.

Parker’s side have lost their opening four Premier League fixtures after bouncing straight back to the top flight following relegation in 2018/19, conceding 11 goals in the process.

Having said that, signing Ademola Lookman on loan looks to be a smart acquisition, with the defensive pairing of Tim Ream and Maxime Le Marchand helping to keep Wolves at bay all but once on Sunday.

Parker said: "Overall, pleased with the performance.

“Disappointed that we've not managed to win the game, of course, because you don't want to lose football matches. But the way we set up, the way that the players took to to the game defensively, I thought we were very solid."

Having previously said of his transfer hopes following the recent outburst of director of football Tony Khan: “We’ve been in the market for some time so to think it’s got to three days left, it’s touch and go.

“But hopefully we can get some business done in the next coming days and on Monday. Then we’ll see where we are.
