Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford could reportedly still be punished with a three-game ban for his challenge on Virgil van Dijk.

There is w widespread agreement that Pickford should have been sent off against Liverpool for his horror tackle.

As it was, the shot-stopper went unpunished with Van Dijk having been offside when the ‘offence’ had taken place.

VAR were looking at the incident but because the video technology ruled Dutch defender Van Dijk was offside they did not take further action.

Referee Michael Oliver may have had his view obscured by players in a crowded penalty area, though did not consult the pitchside monitor.
