Jose Mourinho’s angry outburst when Brentford star Josh DaSilva ravaged Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s leg was overheard.

The Portuguese manager saw his side reach the Carabao Cup final with a 2-0 win over the Championship team, facing either Manchester United or Manchester City at Wembley on April 25.

While Moussa Sissoko and Son Heung-Min took the limelight with their goals, the night ended on a sour note as DaSilva picked up a red card.

Taking control of the ball with eight minutes to go, the Englishman tries to perform a stopover but slips as his right boot is left stretching out.

And he catches Hojbjerg’s left leg, leading Mike Dean to take a VAR review at the pitch side screen before sending the Brentford player off.

But the incident also sparked a big reaction from the Spurs boss, which was overheard at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The foul was greeted by a chorus of "oh" from the Spurs bench before Mourinho shouted: “It’s a disgrace!”

Images soon emerged of Hojbjerg’s leg, which was left with several puncture marks and blood spilling out of them.

As the Dane insisted to Mourinho that he could carry on playing, the manager told him to go down the tunnel.

With the midfielder showing his frustration, the Spurs faithful were delighted to see his passion as one said: “My warrior.”

Another commented: “And to think I could not love him more.”

While a third wrote: “Hojbjerg wanting to get back on the pitch even though his leg looks like something out of WW2 is exactly the reason why every Spurs fan loves him.”

DaSilva took to Twitter after the game with an apology for his tackle on Hojbjerg.

He wrote: “Anyone that knows me, knows it was never intentional… will learn from this.”

And the Spurs midfielder did not take long before replying to the Brentford star on social media, staying in good spirits.

He said: “Of course you didn’t mean it. So don’t worry. I’m a viking and I am fine. But... You owe me a new shin pad!

“You have a great future ahead Josh. Be strong & keep working hard. Best of luck to you and your team.

“Big hug, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.”

It comes as Mourinho’s pre-match tactics for the Carabao Cup win were explained by Sissoko.
