Rangers forward Kemar Roofe scored from inside his own half on Thursday evening.
The 27-year-old former Leeds and Anderlecht forward sealed all three points in their opening Europa League group stage match after James Tavernier converted from the penalty spot.
Steven Gerrard would have gone into the game full of confidence following the Old Firm derby win over Celtic, and they managed to match that scoreline after travelling from Scotland.
The second-half goal from Roofe has already be named as one of the best strikes of the season.
One fan said: “What can you say about that goal from Kemar Roofe that was utterly magnificent.”
With a second adding: “Kemar Roofe you will not see a better goal than that.”
A third said: “Kemar Roofe has just scored... well... the best goal ever scored by anyone. Ever.”
With a fourth concluding: “KEMAR ROOFE THAT IS OUTRAGEOUS!!!”
Before the match Gerrard had offered his best wishes to the five players who were not able to take part in the clash because of Covid-19, including Moussa Sissako, Nicolas Raskin, Michel-Ange Balikwisha.
He said “As a manager, you always have a concern and a paranoia about the virus. I think everyone in the world at the moment carries the same concerns and worries.
“We wish all the players that have got the virus well, we hope they make a speedy recovery.
“And hopefully the rest of the players that are competing and the people at the ground go away and get home safe. That is what we wish for.”
