Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is backing former clubs Leeds and Chelsea to claim victory in the Premier League over the weekend.

Marcelo Bielsa’s Whites have got a tough test in store on Sunday, with FA Cup winners Arsenal due to visit Elland Road.

Both sides are looking to return to winning ways after suffering major setbacks prior to the international break; Leeds slumped to consecutive 4-1 defeats against Leicester and Crystal Palace, while the Gunners were thrashed 3-0 at home by Aston Villa in their latest outing.

Newcastle will also be looking to bounce back from a loss when Chelsea arrive at St James’ Park for Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off.

The Magpies were beaten 2-0 by Southampton before the pause in schedule, yet their opponents are heading into tomorrow’s game in a rich vein of form.

Frank Lampard’s Blues have claimed victory in their last two Premier League outings, avoiding defeat and keeping three clean sheets in their last five.

And Hasselbaink, who enjoyed successful spells with Chelsea and Leeds in his iconic playing career, is tipping both of his former clubs to prevail at the weekend.

The former Netherlands striker, speaking exclusively to Ladbrokes at its launch of the 5-A-Side Bet on Leeds vs Arsenal, has stuck his neck on the line with score predictions for both matches.

But Hasselbaink is backing them to pick up a 3-2 win over Arsenal on Sunday

Newcastle 1-2 Chelsea

“Chelsea haven't had much joy at St James' Park in recent years but I think they'll sneak through this one with a win.”

Leeds 3-2 Arsenal

“There'll be goals in this game and I think Arsenal will be in for a hard afternoon.

“They'll want to play out from the back and control the game and that suits Leeds.”

Hasselbaink has been impressed with United’s start to life back in the Premier League, adding: “Leeds are a breath of fresh air for the Premier League. They play the kind of football where you need a lot of energy and not a lot of people can cope with them.

“But they do play a style which leaves them very open to their opposition, and that has shown on a few occasions already this season.”
