Nike will reportedly pay Liverpool £2m if they retain the Premier League next season as part of the new kit deal.

The Reds unveiled the design for their new jerseys with Nike taking the reins of kit manufacturer from New Balance.

Liverpool will reportedly earn £30m a season straight away from the deal, as well as royalties of 20 per cent on all net sales of merchandise.

Though The Athletic report that there is also a £2m bonus for winning the Premier League, as well as £4m bonus if the Reds win the Champions League.

Even reaching the final of Europe’s top competition will reportedly see £2m arrive at Anfield.

With Liverpool’s projections in terms of global sales and continued on-field progress, it’s claimed that this year’s Premier League champions expect the contract to be worth between £60m and £70m per year.

That compares to the previous deal with New Balance which was reportedly worth £40m per year.

On the new kit, which goes on sale on Thursday, Liverpool ace Virgil van Dijk said: “I’ve been part of the Nike family for a while now and have an incredible relationship with them.

“I’m very familiar with the quality of the design and innovation that goes into making a kit like this. Stepping out as champions next season in this kit will be really special.”

The Reds’ newly appointed CEO Billy Hogan expressed his delight when the deal was announced in January, predicting an incredible partnership with the world famous brand.

He said: “Our iconic kit is a key part of our history and identity.
