Liverpool stars gave their reactions to the new Nike kit as they unboxed the shirt together on a hilarious video call.
The Reds’ new £80m-a-year deal with the US sportswear brand has started today, having pushed back the date due to Covid-19’s suspension of football.
Fans have already been treated to leaked images of the strip, with the famous red having a green and white edging on the collar and sleeves.
And they were treated to the club’s players trying it on in new footage from Liverpool’s official YouTube channel.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Virgil van Dijk were first to try on the Nike kit, with the Dutch defender only needing one word to describe his reaction.
“Fire,” he simply said as the midfielder praised the shirt’s material.
But the Englishman was not happy with one aspect, replying: “It looks like they’ve sent me an XL, so I don’t know what they’re trying to say.”
While they were both left wondering what had happened to the Premier League champion and Club World Cup badges.
Academy star Curtis Jones was next to join, boasting a huge smile as he wore his boyhood club’s strip.
Captain Jordan Henderson, veteran James Milner and defender Joe Gomez also joined the call, with the young Englishman simply saying: “It’s wonderful.”
And the Reds skipper had his own word for the new Nike strip, with: “Wowzer!”
Goalkeeper Alisson also joined the call to show off the No.1 kit, all in black with a pattern on the torso.
The Brazilian was ready to pose as his team-mates were blown away at the design, with van Dijk saying: “What a beautiful thing.”
And last to join was full-back Andy Robertson, whose slow WiFi gave his team-mates the chance to have a cheeky dig.
“It was looking good until I saw Robbo with it on,” Henderson added as the team were left in stitches.
But fans have been left fuming at the price of the new Nike kit – and they are divided over the design.
