Manchester United turned down Penarol’s pleas for Facundo Pellistri to return on loan with the Red Devils wanting to know whether the youngster had been in a ‘bubble’.
Pellistri was one of four Deadline Day arrivals at Old Trafford and has been put in United’s Champions League squad.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems to be keen to get the 18-year-old involved with the United squad straightaway though Penarol wanted to keep their player on loan.
But the Red Devils were keen for Pellistri to head to Manchester immediately, and wanted him in a bubble amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Penarol's vice president Rodolfo Cantino told Referi: "We tried in every way but they argued that they wanted the player now.
"It's normal, when a European club buy a player, they travel immediately.
"Pellistri goes straight to the first team. Going to play.
"In the negotiation they asked me if I could guarantee them if he was in the bubble because they need him.
"Then it will be a matter of the manager if he uses him."
Pellistri himself can’t wait to get going at Premier League giants Manchester United.
He said: “To join a club with the history of Manchester United is a dream come true.
“I have learnt a lot at Penarol and I would like to thank them for everything they have done for me.
“To have the confidence of the manager is an amazing feeling and I know that working with him will be perfect for my development.
