United have been continuously linked with a move for Sancho this summer despite Dortmund chief Michael Zorc insisting the Premier League side missed a deadline for any potential sale.
That’s not put Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ed Woodward and Co off though with United having made their first move in the transfer market.
Donny van de Beek signed for the Red Devils earlier this week for United’s first signing of the window.
And the Daily Mail report that United are continuing their hunt for Sancho and will sort out the salary and fees of intermediaries before approaching Dortmund with an official bid.
Sancho’s agent is believed to be Emeka Obasi of the Elite Project Group agency, with the same group looking after Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah.
A fee is likely to be a sticking point with Bundesliga giants Dortmund previously refusing to budge from their £108m valuation.
Solskjaer is eager to improve his attacking options having strengthened his midfield with the signing of Van de Beek and Bruno Fernandes’ arrival in January.
United icon Darren Fletcher wants to see his former side sign Sancho this summer with the Red Devils often struggling in their wide positions.
Fletcher said: “It’s clearly a position that Manchester United, I feel, have needed for a number of years now, somebody who naturally wants to play off that right-hand side.

“So, I think that it ticks all the boxes in that respect but – at the same time – these transfers are very, very difficult. He’d be a fantastic acquisition for anyone who gets him.”
Solskjaer is also believed to be keen on strengthening his defence with moves for Dayot Upamecano and Kalidou Koulibaly both on the radar.
