Manchester United will make a first and final bid of £90m for Jadon Sancho next week in the hope of landing the England sensation.

United are poised to offer Borussia Dortmund £75m up front plus £15m in add-ons in a bid to lure their No.1 target to Old Trafford.

It is understood United executive vice chairman Ed Woodward will make his move and make it clear to Dortmund it will be a take-it-or-leave-it offer.

The summer transfer window closes on October 5 and United bosses remain confident of signing Sancho.

Dortmund have been holding out for £108m for Sancho and their refusal to budge on the asking price has seen the saga drag out for almost three months.

Sancho will be the subject of a bid from Manchester United next week

But United are set to call their bluff and make the Bundesliga outfit an offer they believe is 'generous' considering the current state of the transfer market in the wake of the financial impact of Covid-19.

Woodward knows Sancho is desperate to join United to link-up with England team-mates Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Harry Maguire - and is banking on Dortmund's stubborn resolve breaking.

United have come under fire from supporters and critics for failing to sign the 20-year-old, despite making their interest in him clear weeks ago.

Ed Woodward is looking to secure a deal for Sancho

But Woodward has been determined to bide his time and not get dragged into a bidding war with Dortmund, like he has done with other clubs in the past.

United fell into this trap when Barcelona rejected two bids for Cesc Fabregas in 2013, leaving them scrambling round for alternatives just hours before the window closed.

In the end United spent £27.5m on Marouane Fellaini from Everton with minutes to spare - and found themselves hammered in the media.

Despite threatening to turn their back on Sancho at the end of July, United have kept in constant dialogue with the player's agent Emeka Obasi.

It is understood United have already agreed personal terms with the winger on a long-term deal worth close to £175,000-a-week.

Dortmund head coach Lucien Favre insists the situation regarding Sancho's future is closed, but this could all change next week when United finally make their move.
