Sergio Romero is seething with Manchester United for making it difficult for him to find an escape route from Old Trafford.
The Argentine goalkeeper is desperate to get out of United before the transfer window closes after finding himself third in the pecking order of keepers.
The return to United of Dean Henderson following his loan spell with Sheffield United means Romero needs a new club.
Leeds United, Aston Villa and Everton have all been linked with moves for Romero during the window but United's demands have made an exit unlikely.
Villa have already moved on from Romero, completing a £20m deal for Emiliano Martinez.
Leeds appear to be happy with their options between the sticks now, with youngster Illan Meslier impressing in his first four games in the Premier League.
Everton have made a late enquiry about Romero in a bid to provide some competition for the under fire Jordan Pickford but, like Villa and Leeds, they may also look elsewhere.
United bosses are demanding a fee in the region of £10m but Everton are only interested in a loan.
The Toffees have also made an enquiry about Tottenham stopper Paulo Gazzaniga, who has fallen down the pecking order at Spurs with the addition of Joe Hart.
Darren Bent recently claimed Romero would be an excellent signing for Everton and would be able to 'push Pickford'
Speaking to Football Insider, Bent said: "He’s never really let United down, he’s always been a pretty good goalkeeper.

"I can understand why Everton would like him. We’ve seen the resurgence of no. 2s. Maybe he’s thinking ‘you know what, I’m good enough to be a no. 1.’
"We’ve seen it with Martinez at Arsenal going to Villa and making an instant impression there. I can see Romero going there and pushing Pickford."
