Manchester United transfer target Moises Caicedo has again admitted his admiration of the club.

But the attacker may join another European side before moving to England.

The Ecuador youngster could be the next teen sensation to join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 's ranks this month if Independiente del Valle sanction his exit.

It has been reported that the move for the 19-year-old is part of a new transfer strategy at Old Trafford.

And it's clear Caicedo would be open to a move to his dream club - but may join another club in Europe before securing a Red Devils switch.

"My dream is to get to Manchester United, but first I want to reach other teams in Europe to adapt and get to Manchester in a better way,” he told Futbol Sin Cassette.

Speculation has been rife that Caicedo's move to Old Trafford is a done deal.

But before the Red Devils made their move though, they asked former club captain Antonio Valencia for his opinion on the 19-year-old.

The United hero told his former club he felt Caicedo had true potential and had been impressed watching him play for Ecuador's senior side, despite his age, according to the Athletic.

Caicedo has featured in four World Cup qualifying matches last year, registering three assists and a goal across three victories.

And last year he also expressed his desire to play for United.

“My challenge is one day to be in the elite of world football. I have proposed this to myself, my dream is to play in the big leagues,” Caicedo told Global Digital TV.

“The Premier League,” he added when asked which league in particular.

The 19-year-old, who is reportedly set for a medical at Old Trafford, played 79 minutes against the Barcelona captain as he made both attacking and defensive contributions

“Manchester United are my favourite club.

“I really like the game of N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba, I learn a lot from them every time I see them. I always try to do what they do, that’s why they are there.”

Chelsea scouts have held discussions with Caicedo's intermediaries, and that Newcastle and Brighton are other Premier League sides that have shown interest.
