Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to offload some key stars this summer as Donny van de Beek arrives at Old Trafford.

The Dutchman is expected to unveiled as a Red Devils star in the next few weeks after personal terms were agreed.

Van de Beek's arrival means one less midfield slot for Solskjaer's current crop to fill, meaning some players will miss out.

The Daily Mail report Andreas Pereira and Jesse Lingard are two that will be axed, having both been deemed surplus to requirements at the business end of last season.

Bruno Fernandes' January arrival caused another spot in Solskjaer's XI to go, ultimately leaving Pereira out of action at times.

As for Lingard, the former England international has been struggling for form in recent months and is another seemingly heading for the exit, with West Ham interested.

The attacker's lack of goals and assists has seen his stock plummet among football fans.

Lingard has spent 20 years at United but has not started a game for the club since New Years' Day.

Phil Jones is another facing the exit door after falling down the pecking order, along with fellow defender Marcos Rojo.

The duo have been out of favour under Solskjaer and have no future at Old Trafford.

RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano is reportedly being chased by United, which would only further isolate the duo.

Van de Beek's arrival is imminent after the player's father confirmed the move to the press.

"This is a dream come true," he told Dutch outlet omroepgelderland.nl:

"It’s the perfect moment for him to make this step to such a beautiful club.

"Many clubs were interested, but Donny decides himself."

And interim Holland boss also spoke out about a transfer on Monday.

“No, I think it is almost done," he told reporters.

"I think there is still an inspection attached to it. It will take place. I am certainly not going to send Donny home, because he would love to be here himself. That is also important.”

Van de Beek will join in a deal worth £40m after being chased by the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
