Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made a demand to Ed Woodward over incoming transfers.

The Manchester United manager has a close relationship with his players and is not keen to see that harmony disrupted by bringing in a new signing that doesn’t fit in with the dressing room harmony.

Following the revelations of Alexis Sanchez on Friday, in which he stated that he regretted his move to Old Trafford after just one training session, a request that Solskjaer has made to Woodward has emerged.

The Norwegian is said to have asked the club chief to value the mood in the first-team squad when looking at potential new signings, and that could impact the rest of their summer pursuits.

ESPN have reported that Solskjaer has told Woodward to value the dressing room harmony following the ‘disastrous’ swap deal that saw Sanchez leave Arsenal back in 2018.

They add that Sanchez was brought in on a deal worth £400,000-a-week which could have risen to £500,000-a-week after bonuses, which is also likely to have confused his new team-mates.

The report also mentioned that the move for Donny van de Beek was completed so quickly because he fits in with both the mood of the playing squad and their new wage structure.

Sanchez said of his failed move: "I got the opportunity to go to United and it seemed tempting to me. It was something nice for me, because when I was a kid I liked that club a lot.

“I ended up signing without much information about what was happening in the move. The first days that I was with my colleagues, sometimes there are things that you do not realise until you arrive.

“The first training I had I realised many things. I got home and I told my representative: 'Can't the contract be terminated to return to Arsenal?'

"They start laughing and I told them that something did not sit right with me. It had already been signed."

But is sounds as though Van de Beek has no regrets after choosing to leave his boyhood club Ajax earlier this week.

He said: “Very excited to be the newest edition of the #MUFC family.

“Your enthusiastic responses to my announcement make me feel at home already! Can’t wait to join the team in Manchester.”
