The United boss contacted de Beek on his personal laptop and told him of his plans to make the team the best in Europe once again.
It is understood Solskjaer has promised the Holland international that he will be given the No.10 role at Old Trafford.
United are expected to complete the £40m signing of de Beek in the next 48 hours after he passed a medical in his homeland and agreed personal terms on a long-term deal worth around £150,000-a-week.
United bosses are finalising the paperwork needed to rubber stamp the deal for de Beek to become the club's first major signing of the summer.
United have been monitoring the Ajax midfielder since the start of 2020 and had their bid accepted towards the end of last week.
The 23-year-old was left out of the Ajax squad for a pre-season friendly with Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, but has now joined up with the Dutch squad.
