Bayern Munich midfielder Michael Cuisance is set to be announced as a Leeds United player.
And it has emerged that Marcelo Bielsa’s newly-promoted side saw off competition from a Premier League rival for his signature.
Cuisance, 21, should complete his move imminently, having already undergone his medical.
The switch to Elland Road is a real coup for Leeds, who can offer the France youth star regular game time in the Premier League.
Cuisance only joined Bayern in August 2019, arriving at the Allianz Arena from Borussia Monchengladbach for £10m.
But consistent match action has been hard to come by at the start of the new season and he has agreed to sign for Leeds.
In the Champions League final just last month, Cuisance was an unused substitute in the win against PSG.
His talent is undoubted, and it is no surprise Leeds have faced competition for his services.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano claims Cuisance turned down a bid from another Premier League team.

Rumours suggest the other unmentioned club may be Steve Bruce's Newcastle United, although that is unconfirmed.
The fact Cuisance has chosen to join Leeds ahead of one of their rivals shows he truly believes in the project under Bielsa.
Whether Cuisance will make his Leeds debut this weekend remains to be seen.
