Manchester United new boy Odion Ighalo was sent a message by former player Antonio Valencia as the No.25 shirt is passed on.
The Nigerian was officially pictured in a Red Devils kit for the first time on Tuesday night.
He arrives at Old Trafford from Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua on loan until the end of the season.
Ighalo, who has been a fan of the club since boyhood, will be wearing the number 25 on his shirt.
And the 30-year-old was sent a message by the man who previously wore the shirt, Valencia.
Writing on Twitter, the full-back said: “I always saw the number 25 as an opportunity to work beyond my dreams.
“It has been my inspiration and became my amulet.
“I wish you all the success now with this shirt, brother.”
Ighalo soon responded to the tweet, simply saying: “Thanks brother.”
The former United man’s post has been liked more than 25,000 times as well as being shared thousands of times.
And fans heaped praise on the former captain.
“Thank you Antonio,” one supporter said.
“You always gave your heart for the team.”
Another commented: “Absolute legend.”
While a third added: “Once a Red, always a Red.”
With a fourth simply writing: “Class.”
Valencia left Old Trafford at the end of last season, opting to return to Ecuador with L.D.U. Quito.
The defender made nearly 350 appearances for the Red Devils, winning to Premier League titles and a Europa League.
But his United number will be taken by a forward who scored 10 goals in 19 appearances last season.
The Nigerian has spent three seasons in China, having moved from Watford.
Ighalo was a big part of their top-flight push and continued scoring for them in the 2015/16 season, with 17 goals in 42 games.
And StarSport has taken a look at how the 30-year-old could fit into United’s line-up.
