Paul Gascoigne and Vinnie Jones both broke down in tears on Piers Morgan's Life Stories as the latter heaped praise on the former.
Famous hard man Jones appeared as a guest on Morgan’s self-titled ITV talk show on Saturday night.
In what the presenter described as the “most emotional” episode yet, Gazza and Jones both shed a tear in the studio.
The Newcastle legend was a guest in the audience, and about halfway through the chat the attention turned to him.
Morgan brought up the infamous picture of Jones manhandling Gazza during a game between Wimbledon and Newcastle.
And explaining why he had a cheeky grab, the former midfielder turned actor said his rival had it coming due to the army of girls he had cheering him on.
Jones laughed: “He deserved that bit because he came out in the warm up and there were girls coming over with flowers and roses and all that. And he was loving it.
“And I was like ‘oh you’ll do for me today, son’.”
Things took a more serious turn shortly after, as Morgan asked Jones about Gazza’s footballing ability.
The host quizzed: “How good was he?”
“One of the best, if not the best, that I’ve played against,” Jones replied.
Turning to the man himself, Morgan then asked: “Gazza? What does that make you feel to hear him say that?”
Gazza, fighting back the tears, replied: “It’s great to hear. It’s 30 years he’s been a friend of mine.”
Jones can be seen getting emotional in the hot seat as well as the pair enjoying a truly heartwarming moment.

It has since been revealed that Gascoigne’s home in Dorset was robbed after Morgan posted a snap of him in the studio audience on Twitter.
Thieves are understood to have nicked a £40,000 gold diamond-encrusted watch, as well as a £2,000 gold cigar cutter and a watch owned by his late father John.
The England hero said of the raid: “Police believe that the picture Piers posted of us together filming in London could have alerted burglars that I was away from the house.
"I guess we’ll never know. But they must have been hungry – they took my two steaks out of the freezer.
“At least they were considerate enough to leave me some chicken.”
