Peter Crouch channelled his inner Rod Stewart while carrying out the FA Cup fourth and fifth round draws on Monday night.
The former Premier League striker was on hand to pull all 32 balls out of the pot before Stockport County and West Ham’s third-round clash, with Man Utd vs Liverpool the standout tie in the fourth round.
When he got the draw underway Crouch hilariously lifted his arm in the air before dipping it into the pot, which was a reference to Stewart’s famous antics during the 2016/17 Scottish Cup fifth round draw.
The legendary singer left fans in stitches by eccentrically scooping his arm into the bowl and shouting each number out on television, which even tickled Scottish FA President Alan McRae and former Hibernian manager Alan Stubbs on the day.
Some even accused Stewart, who is a die-hard Celtic supporter, of being drunk at the time.
And Crouch couldn’t resist emulating him while completing Monday’s FA Cup draw, lowering his arm into the pot in similar fashion and saying: “There’s a little tribute to Rod Stewart there!”
Shortly after impersonating Stewart, the former Liverpool man left Reds supporters furious after pairing them with potential Premier League title rivals United in the fourth round.
Jurgen Klopp’s champions are set to travel to Old Trafford for the crunch clash, which will go ahead just a few days after their pivotal league encounter on January 19.
Crouch’s wife Abbey Clancy, whose dad is a Liverpool fan, let her husband know on Twitter that his father-in-law wasn’t best pleased with the draw.
