Thiago Alcantara was a seamless addition to the Liverpool team on Sunday.

The 29-year-old midfielder entered at half-time and broke records for accurate passing while helping the away side see out a 2-0 victory thanks to a brace from Sadio Mane.

The goalscorer mentioned his admiration for his new team-mate after the match, and stated that he felt lucky to be playing alongside the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich playmaker.

In a chat with Sky Sports, Mane said: “Not only me, all the world knows what he is capable of doing.

“It was a tough game. Especially in the first half, we found it very difficult to create chances and I think when they got the red card, it made it easier.
